Washington DC Part - Three
We visited the Smithsonian National Zoological Park during our visit to Washington DC. We wanted to make sure we got to see the Giant Pandas before they move back to China. Did you know Pandas are my favorite animal? So we just had to go see them!
It was so sweet watching 2 year old Xiao Qi Ji nursing and snuggling with his Mommy, Mei Xiang. (Tian Tian is the one playing below.)
It was really hot out but we had fun! We spent several hours at the zoo. There were so many neat animals to see!
I was excited to see the elephants as many zoos don’t have them. They were my Grandmother’s favorite.
It was fun watching this one hang out in the water!
I’m also always excited to see the cats! This Zoo has several varieties!
The cheetahs were a lot of fun to watch! They were very active and roaming around.
You can see why the lion is considered the King of the Beasts! These male lions were incredible! They made me think of Aslan from the Chronicles of Narnia. Those paws are HUGE!
