Grand Teton National Park - Day 3

The 3rd day we decided to take a break from Yellowstone and explore the Tetons. The Tetons are magnificent! If you can see them. Unfortunately, they were mostly hidden by haze.

They were hiding in clouds when we started our day at Mormon Row. Mormon Row is a little road with a few historic picturesque barns and buildings. I’m sure you must’ve seen many photographs from here as it’s popular among photographers. We had to be patient to get pictures due to a bunch of people milling about. It can get rather crowded!

I heard Jenny Lake is a must see so we headed there next. We should’ve gotten there earlier! Jenny Lake was packed and my husband ended up dropping off the kids and I while he went and parked. He ended up about half a mile away out on the road because there were no parking spaces! Jenny Lake is extremely popular! I could see why! Incredible beauty! The lake was so clear! The kids love dipping their toes in and playing here!

We attempted a hike but it was too hot (100 degree weather) and we made the mistake of not carrying water. Note to self and you - don’t ever forget to bring water!!!

Anyway, we attempted to hike a little way and heard that some people had spotted moose and even bears on the trail but we didn’t see anything other than a deer’s booty.

As we left Jenny Lake, the Tetons peeked out of the clouds for a little while! Such a majestic mountain range!

We found a really cool overlook and were able to spot the Snake River way down below!

We drove over to Jackson Hole for dinner and had some delicious BBQ!

On the way back, we decided to try catching the sunset at Mormon Row. By that time most of the people had cleared out. Only a few photographers were left. I’m so glad we went back! It was incredibly gorgeous and peaceful!

I think we were the last ones to leave.

It gets really dark out there away from city lights, so you have to be really careful driving! You never know what may cross your path! We had a herd of elk cross the road on our way back to camp!

I hope you’ll return for the 4th and final day where I’ll take you back to Yellowstone. Thanks for stopping by!
