A Virgina Zoo Visit

We recently visited the Virginia Zoo and I thought I would share a few pictures with you. When is the last time you visited a zoo? It’s a great place to learn more about our World and safely see amazing animals up close! It’s a fun place to practice photography too! ;)

The Virginia Zoo has wonderful variety! We arrived early at opening time because it was going to be a hot day in the hundreds and we wanted to be done about the time it started to get really hot! Many of the animals weren’t out and about yet. They were shortly released from their night enclosures though. We were able to see quite a few animals in just one morning!

I was excited to see the giraffes, lionesses, cheetahs and rhinoceroses. The lionesses are brand new to the zoo along with a male who was kept behind the scenes as they are still getting used to the new location and each other.

It was fun watching the little rhino nurse! He’s almost a year old now.

Scattered throughout the zoo are beautiful gardens!

When it gets too hot, the reptile room is a great place to cool off and see more cool creatures!

The Virginia Zoo also has a fun little train ride. We didn’t do that this time but we have in the past. What fun activities does your zoo have? Will you visit a zoo this summer?
