Washington DC - Part Nine

My sister-in-law and I returned to the Lincoln Memorial just after sunset. My brother graciously escorted us and battled DC traffic. We had hoped to make it before sunset but traffic proved to be too heavy and it took a long time to find parking. We had been walking everywhere along the Mall up until this point but our feet, legs and backs ached too much!

It was a gorgeous evening!

It wasn’t easy capturing the photo below. People kept walking through and deciding that’s the perfect place to sit. It definitely is for a great view!

Pictured above is the home of Robert E. Lee alongside Arlington National Cemetery.

Washington DC can be a magical place to see in the dark with all the monuments lit up.

I love the silhouettes of the people enjoying their evening!

Thank you for joining me for the Washington DC series. I hope you’ve enjoyed them. We concluded our trip the next day with a visit to Mt. Vernon! Mt. Vernon is another must see place!
