My family and I visited the brand new Redwood Skywalk located within the Sequoia Park Zoo in Eureka, CA. this week. As Zoo Members we were able to attend during the preview time period. The Skywalk is about to open to the general public (May 14th).
The Skywalk is 100 feet high up in the beautiful Redwood trees of Sequoia Park. According to the Zoo, it’s the longest Skywalk on the US’s Western Coast!
My family and I have been eagerly watching the construction from the start and have been so excited to experience the Skywalk! Let me tell you, it was worth the wait! We loved it! Even my daughter who has a fear of heights overcame her fear and did it! She even says she’d be willing to go again as long as she can walk across the moving bridges without her brothers bouncing it! The boys loved it so much they went around twice and were bummed when they didn’t get to go a third time!
It was pretty cool being so high up among the Redwoods and seeing a new perspective! The walk begins with handicap accessible solid bridges and good size platforms to stop and enjoy your surroundings.
Then you come to the Adventure Segment which was pretty neat! The bridges bounce with your movement and you can see through them to the forest floor!
