Kodiak Bears
It’s Throwback Thursday! Today I’m taking you back to August of 2016.
I was living on Kodiak Island in Alaska at the time. One incredible evening, I went on a little drive and got to watch a Kodiak Momma Bear and her cubs fishing for Salmon! What an amazing experience!
Now before someone gets worried about how close I might’ve been… I was using a slightly longer lens (270mm) and I was up above the bears on a bridge overpass surrounded by many people! Safety first!!!
Kodiak Bears are a subspecies of the grizzly bear. They are one of the largest bears in the World (second in size to the Polar Bear)! You will only find them on Kodiak Island! So you can imagine how special it is to see them!
Those little cubs were so CUTE exploring, and following their Momma! It was adorable when one of them decided to mess around and check out a Bald Eagle. Don’t worry, both just watched each other and then the cub went on it’s merry little way.
My photography skills have much improved since then, but I think the pictures are still fun to look at. I hope you enjoy seeing them too!
I hope you enjoyed my little throw-back! Such incredible beauty and power right? If you ever get the chance, Kodiak is an amazing Island to visit!
