Lady Bird Johnson Grove

As promised, here is my post about visiting the Lady Bird Johnson Grove! This is a beautiful grove that I hadn’t visited before! I got to visit twice this month.

When you arrive, there’s this cool bridge to cross over the road to the grove.

Both days I visited it was foggy and misty and I loved the atmosphere it gave! Don’t let weather stop you from visiting!

The Lady Bird Johnson Grove has a really nice easy trail that goes in a large loop. It probably wouldn’t take you very long to walk, if you weren’t stopping to take a ton of pictures like I was!

I wish the photos could capture how truly immense these trees are! You feel so tiny walking through the forest!

Where else can you actually walk inside of a tree and have room for several more people?

The trees have a lot of character with various burls. Some have been struck by lightening and hollowed out, some were hardly fazed! Did you know redwoods are super fire resistant?!? Pretty neat design our Creator gave them!

Have you ever read or watched “The Princess Bride”? There was a tree that reminded us of the entrance to the “Pit of Despair”!

Now where is that knot that opens the door again???…

I always find myself thinking that I wish these trees could talk. They’ve been here for thousands of years! Can you imagine the stories they could tell? How many people before me have walked among them?

As you walk, you start to notice things. Like how this burl looks like a majestic crowned stallion or stag! What do you see?

I’ll leave you with one final slideshow to check out.

Lady Bird Johnson Grove is definitely worth checking out! You’ll love the quiet peace and breathing sweet fresh air.
