Noticing

How is your month of noticing going?

I thought I would share a few of mine thus far!

Comet Neowise July 2020

Comet Neowise July 2020

My first one is actually a bit of a memory from last July. “Light Up the Sky” by The Afters is one my most favorite songs right now. It always reminds me of driving up to Kneeland to see and photograph the beautiful night sky with this song playing and family singing along. More than that though, the reminder that no matter how dark the “night”, God is still with me! I just have to trust Him and open my eyes. These next few weeks I hope to capture some more beautiful night scenes!

This next one my Husband noticed actually. We went to In-N-Out for lunch one day and he discovered that all the food packaging had various Bible verse references hiding on them! I wonder how many people notice and look them up?

Some days all you need to do is look up! I’ve seen the most incredible sun and moon dogs here in Humboldt County. This one was no exception! It had a beautiful rainbow like ring. I love looking at the sky! I always have. I love seeing different cloud formations, night expanses, and celestial events. Looking up is one of my favorite things to do!

I had the wonderful opportunity to go take pictures out at Samoa by myself on this particular morning. What a nice hour it was to seek out beauty and enjoy the quiet. I’m going to miss this place when we move! Each beach is unique and there’s always something to discover!

I was making my way across boulders and rocks at the beach and I got to thinking how that’s a lot like life. You have to be very careful of your footing or you may fall. There are many obstacles! A rock might shift, there are many nooks, crannies, shapes and sizes to watch out for, and seaweed might make it slippery! You need to be careful of your footing or you could accidentally hurt yourself or a tiny creature. It’s difficult, but you keep going and trying until you make it!
